Loved this Rachel - I am still having issues with novel atm too, but at least that has not prohibited me from getting words on pages, being that I have coughed up a few poems and a short story, and am presently writing a blog post musing on BBC Earth and the origins and meaning of human creativity - obviously an even further historical nerding. Will post it on www.smallwriteratlarge.com when I finish it; hopefully after getting this out of my system I will resume other historical fiction progress!

Enjoyed this, & empathised with the proscrastination. It's what brought me here. I'm supposed to be editing my novel, too (hist fic / fictionalised memoir).

Great reviews, thanks. More titles for the "to read" list. :)

I'm definitely a fan of Mary-Janes, but that's because I like wearing handmade socks ;0)

OMG Tracy. Handmade socks?! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am by the thought. I need details RIGHT NOW. I have my own treasured collection, my so-called ‘snazzy socks’ (think rainbows, tigers and Greek urns) which I save for a socks&birkenstock situation. But handmade socks? Next level. X

I much prefer hand knitted socks, I would share a picture, but it won’t let me... 😁😁
